Rob Lister, P.Eng., MBA
President and Chief Executive Officer
Rob has grown Oakville Enterprises and its family of businesses to become a leading energy and infrastructure services organization throughout Ontario and beyond. Through 12 operating brands, OEC operates a dynamic portfolio of synergistic businesses specializing in Electricity Distribution, Infrastructure Services, Energy Services, and Generation.
For over 35 years, Rob has served and provided leadership in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Previous roles at Toronto Hydro, Earth Energy, OZZ Energy Solutions and Horizon Utilities have contributed to Rob’s broad range of expertise in leading and growing organizations.
Community and industry participation includes the Board of Directors of the Ontario Energy Association (Vice-Chair), Board of Directors of the Canadian Electricity Association, former Board of Directors of United Way Oakville and 2015 Chair of the United Way Oakville Campaign Cabinet, CEO partner of the GridSmartCity Cooperative, Board of Advisors for the Entripy Group, member of the McMaster Engineering and Management Industrial Advisory Council and a long standing Director with the Oliphant Campers' Association (one of the oldest cottage associations in Canada) as well as the Harbourmaster liaison to Fisheries and Oceans Canada for the Oliphant Harbour.
He is a professional engineer, with a degree in Engineering and Management, and an MBA, both from McMaster University.
Scott Mudie, P.Eng., MBA
Chief Operating Officer, Energy Infrastructure Services
Scott Mudie is Chief Operating Officer, Energy and Infrastructure Services Oakville Enterprises Corporation (OEC). Mr. Mudie oversees the strategic direction of the operating units under OEC’s Energy Services, Power Generation and Infrastructure Services lines of business. Mr. Mudie leads the team that scans the business environment and shapes winning strategies accordingly to capture opportunities and enhance shareholder value. In this capacity, Mr. Mudie also guides business development with responsibility for mergers and acquisitions. He is also a member of the Executive Management team providing governance and oversight for the Corporation.
Mr. Mudie has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, operations and project development and gained valuable experience working in many countries around the world. Mr. Mudie held positions with General Motors, Ingersoll-Rand and ConAgra Foods. Mr. Mudie holds a BSc. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph and is an Ivey Scholar, where he earned his MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. Mr. Mudie is also Chair of Ontario One Call’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Mudie joined OEC in 2008 as General Manager for El-Con Construction and Renewable Generation. Mr. Mudie has direct oversight for PVS Contractors, G-Tel Engineering, El-Con Construction, Golden Horseshoe Metering Systems, UTS Consultants, Planview Utility Services, Huron Geomatics, Sandpiper Geo-exchange, Sandpiper Generation and Oakville Hydro Energy Services.
Mike Brown, P.Eng.
Chief Operating Officer, Oakville Hydro
Mike joined Oakville Enterprises Corporation (formerly Oakville Hydro Corporation) in early 2009. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Oakville Hydro – the regulated entity that is the local electricity distribution company that serves the residents and businesses in the Town of Oakville. He is responsible for overall customer service plus a ‘leading edge’ Engineering and Operations organization focused on overall power system planning, design and capacity management, as well as ongoing distribution system operation. In addition, Mike is accountable for Infrastructure, Corporate Health, Safety and Environment, as well as Enterprise Risk Management.
Prior to joining Oakville Hydro, Mike had an extensive career at Bell Canada and Bell Canada International (Saudi Arabia) where he gained a wealth of utility experience. He held senior positions at Bell in Business Transformation, Access Network, DC Power, National IP and Switch Core Network Management.
He is a graduate of McMaster University with a Bachelor Engineering (Civil) and earned his Professional Engineer (PEO) designation. Mike also received corporate training in the Strategic Leadership Program (Queens), Operations Leadership Program (Queens), Six Sigma – Lean Process, Process and Performance Management (Rummler-Brache), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); Sloan School of Management. Mike is also actively engaged in leadership roles in Ontario’s Electricity Distributors Association (EDA) and the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA).
Sean McCaughan, CFA
Chief Financial Officer
Sean joined Oakville Enterprises Corporation in May 2017 as Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for the overall financial stewardship of OEC, including financial reporting, planning and analysis, treasury, contributing to M&A activities, and regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining OEC, Sean was the President and CEO of Deep Bay Capital, an advisory firm providing strategic and corporate finance advisory services to the resource sector, mid market companies and private equity firms.
Sean was also a Senior Vice President at Sherritt International Corporation, an international organization with operations in mining, oil and gas, and power generation. Sean led Canada’s largest thermal coal operation with $1 billion in revenue and oversaw 1,500 employees. He focused on developing leadership teams, improving operational performance and identifying value creation opportunities.
Other roles included Vice President Investor Relations, Managing Director of Marketing and Business Development, Director of Corporate Development, and was previously an Investment Banker at UBS and Bank of America. Sean has extensive experience in executing and advising on equity and debt financings, and Mergers & Acquisitions transactions.
Sean is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and has an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Sean lives in Oakville with his family and is an active member in his community.
Simon Abbott, B.Sc., MBA
Vice President, Human Resources and Business Services
Simon is a senior Human Resources leader with international experience and expertise in managing all aspects of significant organizational change including mergers and acquisitions. He has led HR teams in several industries including banking, insurance, pharmaceuticals and consumer financing.
Prior to joining OEC, Simon held senior roles with such corporate leaders as GE and Citibank. Most recently, while at pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, he led the North American HR Services unit and helped drive the organization's move to a new global model of HR service delivery. Simon has a passion for aligning HR strategy and people plans with corporate strategy in order to deliver excellent business results.
Simon graduated from McMaster University with an Hons. B.Sc. and subsequently completed his MBA at the University of Windsor. He also holds the FLMI designation within the life and health insurance industry and is Six Sigma trained.
Mary Caputi, CPA, CA
Vice President, Innovation and Growth
Mary has been involved in the energy and infrastructure sectors for over 15 years. In her current role of Vice President, Innovation and Growth, she leads OEC in advancing the organization forward to strategically align the businesses with the fast pace of change, the challenges of new and disruptive technologies, and with the way energy is being transformed. In addition to her role, Mary is the Chief Conservation Officer at Oakville Hydro and leads the organization's Women in Leadership initiative.
Previously, Mary held senior roles in Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Energy Conservation, Supply Chain & Facilities, Institutionalized Program Management and Communications at OEC. Mary serves on the board of Energy Storage Canada and actively participates in many committees such as the Canadian Electricity Association Emerging Issues Committee and the Ontario Energy Board Industry Standards Committee. Mary is also a volunteer public representative for the Halton District School Board’s Audit Committee and is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a degree in mathematics and accounting.
Pat joined OEC in 2016 after previously serving as the Vice President, Administrative Services for a large public Calgary based multi-national corporation where she was responsible for the Corporate Secretarial, Aviation and Administration areas. Pat is an experienced Corporate Secretary with strong public company disclosure, board governance and public and subsidiary company compliance knowledge. Other experience includes smaller-mid size start-up companies where she was actively involved in initial public offerings. In addition Pat’s earlier career included a number of years in the banking industry where her last position was Manager of Credit and Compliance with the Corporate & Investment Banking Group of a major Canadian bank.
Pat has successfully completed numerous university and continuing education courses including the Canadian Securities Partners, Directors & Senior Officers Qualifying Examination, the Ivey Business School, Strategic Leadership Development Program, the Ivey Business School Communications Program and several oil and gas and Canadian banking courses.
