Rob Lister, P.Eng., MBA

President and Chief Executive Officer

Rob has grown Oakville Enterprises and its family of businesses to become a leading energy and infrastructure services organization throughout Ontario and beyond. Through 12 operating brands, OEC operates a dynamic portfolio of synergistic businesses specializing in Electricity Distribution, Infrastructure Services, Energy Services, and Generation.


For over 37 years, Rob has served and provided leadership in the energy and infrastructure sectors.  Previous roles at Toronto Hydro, Earth Energy, OZZ Energy Solutions and Horizon Utilities have contributed to Rob’s broad range of expertise in leading and growing organizations.


Community and industry participation includes the Board of Directors of the Ontario Energy Association (Chair), Board of Directors of the Canadian Electricity Association, former Board of Directors of United Way Oakville and 2015 Chair of the United Way Oakville Campaign Cabinet, member of the Halton Community Action Lab, Vice-Chair of the GridSmartCity Cooperative, Board of Advisors for the Entripy Group,  member of the McMaster Engineering and Management Industrial Advisory Council and a long standing Director with the Oliphant Campers' Association (one of the oldest cottage associations in Canada) as well as the Harbourmaster liaison to Fisheries and Oceans Canada for the Oliphant Harbour.


He is a professional engineer, with a degree in Engineering and Management, and an MBA, both from McMaster University.

Sean McCaughan, CFA

Chief Operating Officer, Energy & Infrastructure Services

Sean McCaughan is Chief Operating Officer, Energy & Infrastructure Services Oakville Enterprises Corporation (OEC). Mr. McCaughan oversees the strategic direction of the operating units under OEC’s Energy Services, Power Generation and Infrastructure Services lines of business. Mr. McCaughan leads the team that scans the business environment and shapes winning strategies accordingly to capture opportunities and enhance shareholder value. In this capacity, Mr. McCaughan also guides business development with responsibility for mergers and acquisitions. He is also a member of the Executive Management team providing governance and oversight for the Corporation.


Mr. McCaughan joined Oakville Enterprises Corporation in May 2017 as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining OEC, Mr. McCaughan was the President and CEO of Deep Bay Capital, an advisory firm providing strategic and corporate finance advisory services to the resource sector, mid-market companies and private equity firms.


Mr. McCaughan was also a Senior Vice President at Sherritt International Corporation, an international organization with operations in mining, oil and gas, and power generation. He led Canada’s largest thermal coal operation with $1 billion in revenue and oversaw 1,500 employees. He focused on developing leadership teams, improving operational performance and identifying value creation opportunities.


Other roles included Vice President Investor Relations, Managing Director of Marketing and Business Development, Director of Corporate Development, and was previously an Investment Banker at UBS and Bank of America. Mr. McCaughan has extensive experience in executing and advising on equity and debt financings, and Mergers & Acquisitions transactions.


Mr. McCaughan is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and has an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. He lives in Oakville with his family and is an active member in his community.



Scott Mudie, P.Eng., MBA

Chief Operating Officer, Oakville Hydro


Scott Mudie is Chief Operating Officer, Oakville Hydro Electricity Distribution. He is responsible for overall customer service plus a ‘leading edge’ Engineering and Operations organization focused on overall power system planning, design and capacity management. Corporately, Mr. Mudie has leadership accountability for Strategy, Health, Safety and Environment and Risk Management.


Mr. Mudie has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, operations and project development and gained valuable experience working in many countries around the world. Mr. Mudie held positions with General Motors, Ingersoll-Rand and ConAgra Foods. Mr. Mudie holds a BSc. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph and is an Ivey Scholar, where he earned his MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. Mr. Mudie is also Chair of Ontario One Call’s Board of Directors and holds a seat on the Board of MEARIE and the CEA Distribution Council.


Prior to his current position, Mr. Mudie built the brands and businesses that form OEC’s Energy and Infrastructure Services lines of business.



Karen Marner, CPA, CMA, MBA

Chief Financial Officer

Prior to joining OEC, Karen was Vice President Finance Operations for Aecon Construction where she provided overall business decision support, lead strategic planning initiatives; structured new business opportunities and business process change for the Nuclear and Utilities operations groups.


Karen also held various positions in BCE, including extensive merger and acquisition roles in various subsidiaries across Canada and gained significant Program Management (PMO) overseeing Bell Canada’s IT PMO.  While holding the role of CFO at Expertech Network Installation, Karen was also the President of Expertech’s US subsidiary, providing Utility construction services, focused on Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) services across 17 states. Karen is a results driven leader, focusing on developing high performance teams, supporting innovation and strategic investment.


Karen is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA CMA) as well as a graduate of Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics as well as holding an MBA from McMaster University. Karen has received corporate training at the Women’s Leadership Forum (Harvard), Strategic Leadership Program (Ivey School of Business).


Karen lives in Oakville with her family.

Mary Caputi, Vice President, Innovation and Growth

Mary Caputi, CPA, CA
Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President, Construction Operations

Mary has been involved in the energy and infrastructure sectors for over 17 years. As Chief of Staff, Mary is responsible for leading the Gender Diversity initiative, Industry Advocacy, and advising on strategic and operational matters to the CEO’s office. In her role as Senior Vice President, Construction Operations, Mary is responsible for the performance, growth, and expansion of El-Con and Teraflex.


In her past role as Senior Vice President, Enterprise Innovation, Mary led OEC in advancing the organization forward to strategically align the businesses with the fast pace of change, the challenges of new and disruptive technologies, and with the way, energy is being transformed.


Previously, Mary held senior roles in Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Energy Conservation, Supply Chain & Facilities, Institutionalized Program Management and Communications at OEC and was the Chief Conservation Officer at Oakville Hydro. Mary serves on the board of Energy Storage Canada and actively participates in many committees such as the Canadian Electricity Association Emerging Issues Committee, Canadian Electricity Associations Government and Public Affairs Committee and the Ontario Energy Board Industry Standards Committee. She is also a member of the OEA’s Board Advisory Committee and Chair of the GridSmartCity Supply Chain Committee.


Mary is also a volunteer for the Halton District School Board’s Audit Committee and the Oakville YMCA’s Finance Committee.  Mary is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a degree in mathematics and accounting. Mary obtained her Chartered Accountancy designation in 1998.

Jeff Mocha
Vice President, Enterprise Innovation

Jeff leads OEC in advancing the organization forward to strategically align the businesses with the fast pace of change, the challenges of new and disruptive technologies, and the ongoing transformation of the energy sector.


Jeff’s previous experience includes responsibility for Oakville Hydro’s Distribution System Operations Control Room, SCADA, Protection & Control systems, and overall Distribution System Asset Management Program.  He was also the Project Manager and Technical Lead responsible for the design, construction, and ongoing operation of Oakville Hydro’s first wholly-owned Transformer Station.


Jeff is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Electrical Engineering) and is a Professional Engineer in Ontario.

Zorine Fernandes
Vice President, People Excellence

 Zorine has over 20 years of extensive experience in Human Resources Management across a wide range of industries in unionized and non-unionized environments.  Partnering with businesses, she has led large scale change with organization and culture transformations and delivered results through the optimization of great teams, services and programs.


As Vice President, People Excellence, she is responsible for Human Resources and Labour Relations Strategies and is working to elevate a culture that reflects the organization’s brand behaviours of Lead, Innovate and Commit to Excellence. Zorine excels in enhancing business capabilities and productivity, creating rewarding experiences and supporting business growth. Prior to joining OEC, she held progressively senior roles with The Greater Toronto Airports Authority, Bombardier Aerospace, Triple M Metal and Purolator Courier.


Zorine earned her B.Sc. in Biology and Psychology at Trent University and graduated from Sheridan College’s Human Resources Graduate Program. She is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).

Pat Spruin
Corporate Secretary

Pat joined OEC in 2016 after previously serving as the Vice President, Administrative Services for a large public Calgary based multi-national corporation where she was responsible for the Corporate Secretarial, Aviation and Administration areas.  Pat is an experienced Corporate Secretary with strong public company disclosure, board governance and public and subsidiary company compliance knowledge. Other experience includes smaller-mid size start-up companies where she was actively involved in initial public offerings.  In addition Pat’s earlier career included a number of years in the banking industry where her last position was Manager of Credit and Compliance with the Corporate & Investment Banking Group of a major Canadian bank.


Pat has successfully completed numerous university and continuing education courses including the Canadian Securities Partners, Directors & Senior Officers Qualifying Examination, the Ivey Business School, Strategic Leadership Development Program, the Ivey Business School Communications Program and several oil and gas and Canadian banking courses.
